CES 2019 showcases latest PC tech

The first of the big trade shows for 2019 kicked off at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas from 9–12 January, revealing the future of PC client hardware. We were not disappointed: here are our 10 favourite technology innovations from the show floor:

HOT CHIPS

2019 is set to be a big year in for CPUs, with industry leaders Intel and AMD both rolling out new chips with new technologies and improved performance. Not to be outdone, Nvidia announced new graphics cards with ray tracing and better power efficiency. Look for these to be powering your next round of PC updates.

Monitors were the other big news at CES, with screens going ultrawide, ultrabright, ultralarge, ultra-AR and ultra … well, ultra-everything, really. Whether you need a monitor for word processing, number crunching, video conferencing or delivering presentations in person, CES had you covered.
